Six months ago today Jon went into surgery early in the morning and as soon as he was ready to give up that beautiful kidney Mike joined him and got it. It was the day we had been working towards for a LONG time... and all of you helped us get there.
While we haven't had the easiest time over the last six months it's been a lot better than it would have been without Jon & his family and transplant, or without the amazing team at the Transplant Institute at BIDMC, or without support and kindness from our friends and family, so we aren't complaining AT ALL.
And I am not one for over-the-top celebrations and I don't want to set up up for disaster by proclaiming success, but we are enjoying the increasingly frequent days when it seems like life is getting back to 'normal' - which for us means we can work, hang out with our friends and families, enjoy the spring weather (finally), get out on the bikes... and even get back to jumping in the quarry into really COLD WATER!
THANKS, EVERYONE!!!
